![]() In a 20/60 the cells are in parallel groups of three and all in series for 60. In a 20/40 the cells are in parallel pairs for 20 and all in series for 40. The reason there is no 20/40/60 is because the numbers don't work. They could at least have made the 20/60 a battery that would include the 40 volt step and have a 20/40/60 option.Īnyone dealing with this and know of what if anything can be done to replace my 40 volt batteries at a reasonable price? If they are doing this, they are killing maybe thousands of good working tools that are all over Their stuff is not cheap and I was confident with this brand I would be makingĪ very good choice for near and long term. I paid not much more for the entire tool, battery, charger in the first place.Īre they discontinuing these and if so that really BURNS me. The couple I've found available want a premium of nearly $200. Seems they've gone to just the 20volt and the 20 / 60 flex battery. Two I have but having difficulty finding the 40 volt versions. Now I'm thinking of adding a spare battery to the Happy with them and especially impressed with the power and life using my trimmer. So decided to go with the "best" and got the DeWalt 40 volt Max versions of trimmer and blower. After much deliberation a couple years ago, I got rid of my gas trimmer and leaf blower. Even the older flexvolt blower isn’t as good.Hi all, newbie here. I’ve played with them all and they just don’t measure up to the new axial design. I use it to blow sawdust and small dust out because it’s so light. Sorry it sucks compared to the 60v axial style. I have the trimmer( best money ever spent hands down w/t25 replacement head) and the angle grinder. I’m sitting on two batteries and three tools and I plan to buy another battery. Probably not if you’re doing heavy leaves and only plan on getting 1 battery. Would I buy the flexvolt instead of the backpack. Charge time on a 6ah is around 25-30 mins. A guy on eBay prints replacement tips that helps but I haven’t gone that route yet.Īlso with the fan powered charger they make I could go constantly with another battery. ![]() The dewalt has more cdm but it’s major problem is it doesn’t have the right tip style. I can almost do half the yard with a 9ah and 6ah battery. Usually to clear it the back back blower goes through 3 tanks of fuel. I’ve done about a acre that gets covered in thick leaves every year a few times. ![]() I have a backpack blower and the new flexvolt axial style blower. string timmer, hedge trimmer, pole saw, little chainsaw. Then once you're invested in the battery line, you'll find out how stupid convenient the rest of the line is and what a waste of time gas tools are. And "indoors" as well, I haven't swept a garage floor in years now. The cordless stuff with its lack of maintenance, getting started, fueling up and foul smell - It's so damn convenient that you'll find yourself actually using it more often. If they would come out with a dual-battery backpack blower, I'd ditch the gas one so fast. Either way, I have to be in the mood to deal with gas and stinking like exhaust - Something that I used to not think twice about, but now find to be rather unpleasant after getting spoiled by lithium ion tools. I only use the backpack now if i'm going to be doing a lot of heavy leaf blowing over the whole yard, or after the big leaf maples have done their dropping thing and made a huge heavy wet mess out back and want to get them off the grass (and that's more of a runtime thing than power, just takes forever). I have an acre of yard, a BG85, a Husq backpack, and some Dewalt blowers. As others have said the axial version (inline) is better, more efficient. I would buy the 60v, the 772, not the 770.
